World’s second largest smartphone maker – Huawei has joined hands with Micromax – former ruler of Indian smartphone market. The Chinese technology giant aims to boost its offline and online sales in India. Since its debut in India last year, the company has sold more than 200 million smartphones. Huawei-Micromax Strategic Partnership: What are they Planning for?
Huawei-Micromax strategic partnership will boost both companies. While Micromax’s offline stores will be capitalized by Huawei, the Chinese giant aims to expand its offline sales. For unawares, Huawei was in partnership with Chroma and Poorvika Mobiles for offline launches of its handsets.
Here is what the Country Head of Huawei – Tornado Pan said:
„With an aim to be present where our consumers are, we plan to focus on a robust offline distribution network catering to the needs of consumers in urban as well as rural regions and to make them experience the innovative technology that has won the hearts of customers’ world ever.”
What’s more, this deal between Micromax and Huawei is only applicable to Huawei-branded smartphones, and not for its sub-brand Honor.
Further, this is not something we are seeing for the first time. Many other smartphone makers including Vivo, Xiaomi, RealMe, Oppo, and Samsung are already strengthening the offline sales network. Let’s wait and see whether or not Huawei is going to build a strong network.
